Alan Wong

This is the second year we have supported 12 year old Alan as he constantly improves his club swimming and is now nationally ranked 1st in his age group for 200m backstroke.
Alan is close to our hearts as we taught him to swim when he was just 4. He stayed with SOS Swim School until he was 8 when he moved on to start his competitive career, first Poole Swimming Club and currently Ferndown Otters.
Alan will be swimming at this year’s 2010 British Gas National Age Group Championships. He has qualified for 100m and 200m in freestyle, backstroke and butterfly and despite a couple injury setbacks this year, Alan will again be challenging for medals. Going into the Nationals, Alan is ranked first in GB national rankings at 200m backstroke in the 12years age group and third in 100m butterfly.
Alan’s achievements since leaving her SOS Swim School impressed Maureen Bursey and this has earned him a sponsorship with the SOS Swim Shop in 2009. The SOS Swim Shop supplied Alan with performance swimwear for the 2009 British Gas National Age Group Championships.
Cassie Patten
Cassie swam for Great Britain at the Beijing 2008 Olympics, where she took bronze in the 10k open water swim. She also has numerous national and world championship medals to her name, including the World Open WaterChampionship Silver Medal and the British Open Water Swimming Championships Gold medal. Her full swimming profile can be seen here. SOS Swim Shop supply Cassie with SWANS goggles which she uses for both training and competing.

Cassie is competing in several major competitions this summer and is going to keep us updated on her travels around the world and the open water events she participates in.
