Its hard not to like cheeky geordie Robson Green, and following his extreme fishing adventures, i was looking forward to his Wild Swimming Adventures on ITV last night.

While his technique looked rather weak the content of the show was quite good fun. Two things stuck me during the first of this two part series, firstly the sheer insanity and of swimmer and an environmentalist Lewis Pugh, who has made a name for himself swimming in waters that are simply far too cold! I see from his website the next goal is to swim a glacial lake under the summit of Mount Everest. Thats a lake at 5,300meters, think about that next time your in a competition training pool!
Secondly how lucky we are to have such an array of wild swimming here on our doorstep – maybe this is something we should all do – i loved the line from The Outdoor Swimming Association “swimmers have too long been held in chlorined captivity” !!

And lastly it was nice to see some local swimmers featured, well done to you!
